"Turkey, Where the Opportunities Abound – A Safe Haven For Investment" Conference to be held on February 11-12, 2009

YASED is organizing a conference entitled “Turkey, Where the Opportunities Abound – A Safe Haven for Investment” on 11-12 February 2009 at Swissotel Istanbul. Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister Nazım Ekren, Minister of State Mehmet Şimşek, top executives of multinational corporations, bureaucrats, and representatives of international organizations will participate as speakers in this conference, which is being organized for the third time this year in its series. The conference will mainly focus on the global crisis and its impacts on various sectors. The speakers will put their views as to the probable duration of the crisis, the regions it may propagate into, the potential depths as well as their projections for the post-crisis period, to discussion. It is envisaged, like was the case in previous years, that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be the Guest of Honor and will come together once again with the global CEOs of world’s largest companies at the closure session of the conference. 

The conference will comprise eight sessions, where real estate, energy, food, agriculture and finance sectors will be discussed in detail. Whereas Mark Parris, the former US Ambassador, will address the participants as guest speaker at the Gala Dinner, the guest speaker of the Energy Session is going to be Fatih Birol, the Chief Economist of International Energy Agency.
