International Investors Association YASED organized a panel titled “Global Competition in terms of Fast Moving Consumer Goods and New Applications on the Path to European Union” on November 1, 2007. YASED Secretary General Mustafa Alper and The President of the Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations of Turkey Şemsi Kopuz, made opening speeches of the Panel. Undersecretary of Ministery of Agriculture; Vedat Mirmahmutoğulları, Vice Undersecretary of Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Undersecreteriat of Customs; Bülent Ertem, YASED Board Member and Chairwoman of YASED FMCG Committee; Ümran Beba and Unilever Cahirman of Board İzzet Karaca joined the Panel, in which Prof. Dr. Hamdi Yasaman from Galatasaray University was the moderator.    

Panelists evaluated the current situation and the future of the sector in terms of globalisation and European Union,  competitiveness of the applications, necessary arrangements to be done in order to attract new investments and to  increase global competitiveness, the role of bureacuracy, and prospects of the sector.
