Academic Research Competition organized by YASED, this year for the 9th time, with the objective of encouraging university students to head for economic and social researches, was titled; “The Role of International Investments in the Development of R&D Activities in Turkey”. The subject of this year’s competition, which is organized every year and aims to hearten university students to engage in new researches, facilitated to collect together the views of young persons on the R&D issue, which was designated in recent terms by YASED as one of the priority agenda items for Turkey’s economy. Whereas numerous associate, under-graduate, graduate and doctorate students from universities all around Turkey contested with their papers in the competition, the academic paper written by Hüseyin Önder and Özer Özçelik, two graduate students from Dumlupınar University, was deemed worthy of the first award by the 12-member jury, after a diligent analysis.
YASED Chairman Tahir Uysal, Secretary General Mustafa Alper, other Board Members and YASED members, the members of the Jury, the award-winning students and press members participated in the award ceremony and the cocktail reception organized on Tuesday, October 21st in Istanbul. The paper prepared jointly by Hüseyin Önder and Özer Özçelik, from Kütahya Dumlupınar University was found to be the best study describing the role of international investments in the development of R&D activities in Turkey, and received the first award. Onur Adıyaman from Izmir University of Economics received the 2nd award, and Burcu Türkcan, Esra Uysal and Canan Çobanoğlu team from Ege University and Izmir University of Economics received the 3rd award. The young winners were presented their prize money and plaques.
