“Turkey, Where the Opportunities Abound On the Way to Success” International Conference organized by YASED on February 21-22 Has Received Extensive Interest

The conference took place on February 21-22, 2007 at Istanbul Swissotel, with the participation of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU Affairs Ali Babacan, Minister of Industry and Trade Ali Coşkun and Presidents and CEOs of well-known multinationals. The conference has received great attention from public representatives, private sector, international organizations and the media. During the conference, around 90 speakers among which were top executives of multinational companies, bureaucrats and representatives of international organizations addressed nearly 700 participants.

Citibank President Steve Bideshi’s showing Turkey among top five countries to invest, Lead Economist of World Bank Rodrigo Chaves’ identifing unrecorded economy as a cancer, Nomura Investment Bank Executive Director Anais Faraj’s advice that Turkey should promote itself in the east as well, Statoil Turkey General Manager Per Myvang’s underlining Turkey’s position as an energy corridor, MEDEF Chairman Laurence Parisot’s comment on Turkey as a country with a magnificient past and future and investment plans declared by Aareal Bank CEO Wolf Schumacher, Cenor Group – Aerium CEO Anthony Khoi, Euro Hypo CEO Bernd Knobloch and ECE CEO Alexander Otto were among notes recevied attention widely also in the press.
